Standard Poodles
Standard Poodles are an energetic breed of dog that thrive when they are given proper exercise, training, and guidance. They are classified as a large breed of dog, however standing between 15-25+ inches tall and weighing up to 45-55 when fully grown. You may find some larger as well.
Standards were originally bred as hunting dogs. Their primary job was to retrieve ducks and other birds from the water. As such, they are naturally strong swimmers and are always ready to jump into the water! “There are always a few that don’t”
Standard poodles are one of the most diverse breeds. They have the intelligence to be simply the best, and the calmness to sleep all day. They can be serious and make great watch dogs, and yet they become clowns and have everyone laughing.
Standard Poodles are excelling in therapy work for all types of needs that we humans need help with. With their eagerness to please and devotion to people the right standard poodle will make an amazing service dog.
The standard poodle of today is just as athletic and fast as its ancestors. These dogs are proud, but do not be fooled by the portrayal of snooty or arrogant poodles in the media: they are loyal and incredibly affectionate and are always ready to take on a challenge.
Of course, each dog is an individual, but you will find that our pups have an eagerness to learn and play as they become part of your family. For active families, standard poodles make great family pets: these dogs love to play fetch, swim, and take long walks! They are also great for laid-back families too, snuggling on the couch is their favorite thing to do!
Standard poodles are an exceptionally clean breed, non-shedding, no drooling, and they never smell, well okay SOMETIMES they do.
Poodles come in a variety of coat colors so you can pick your pup based on your personal preference. Our pups come in white, black, brown, red, silver, and blue. Pick your poodle color!
